About the Role

Join our dynamic healthcare team in Burien, specializing in diagnosing and treating a wide array of Women’s Health cases. You will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of patients and their families. This position is based at our West Seattle clinic with inpatient coverage at St. Anne Hospital in Burien, a 156-bed Level III Trauma Center.

Our Midwife team provides full-scope midwifery care, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, GYN, annual exams, and family planning. The team consists of two OB/GYN physicians and two CNMs at this location.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered midwifery care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support holistic patient well-being.
  • Manage patients for hospital births and provide in-house OB backup.
  • Offer pain control options, including nitrous oxide, IV meds, and epidurals.

Requirements

  • CNM Certification.
  • Washington State RN and APNP licensures required at time of employment.
  • DEA, NPI, and prescriptive authority.
  • Current BLS for Health Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Expertise in diagnosing and managing complex OB/GYN patients.
  • Strong communication abilities and commitment to patient-centered care.

Schedule

The weekly schedule is variable and typically includes two 8-hour clinic shifts and one 24-hour hospital/call shift in a 7-day work week.

Work Environment

  • State-of-the-art birth center with 22 beds and 24/7 in-house Anesthesia coverage.
  • 6-bed Level II Special Care Nursery at St. Anne Hospital, capable of caring for infants as young as 32 weeks.
  • Partnership with St. Joseph Medical Center (Level III NICU) for transfers if needed.
  • Partnership with Seattle Children’s for specialty newborn care.
  • Approximately 100 deliveries per month.
  • Supportive hospital culture for midwives.
