About the role
The Midwest Non-Acute Construction Project Manager is responsible for Illinois Non-Acute construction projects. The position is full-time with benefits eligibility and works 40 hours per week on a first shift.
Major Responsibilities
- Participates in the bid review process; analyzes quotations and proposals
- Reviews submittals for accuracy and conformity to LGH specifications
- Ensures projects are built according to specifications
- Administers construction projects and maintains project documentation
- Aids in the preparation of initial budget estimates for approval
- Reviews bids and assists in the selection of appropriate contractors
- Prepares change orders for approval
- Reviews and processes pay requests
- Maintains and updates project budget tracker sheets
- Coordinates contractor meetings on both a regular or as needed basis
- Inspects progress of contractor work as related to project schedule
- Fields questions and interfaces between contractors, engineers, contract architects and staff architect, and consultants
- Captures and updates project budget tracker sheets
- Coordinates construction activities (such as shutdowns) that directly affect hospital operations
- Updates appropriate hospital personnel regarding construction activities
- Attends planning meetings with user groups, ensuring the design meets their needs and works within budget
- Interfaces with contract architects and staff architect, designers, engineers, and consultants to ensure construction documents conform both to the design intent and to established Advocate Health Care, BroMenn, Eureka, and Eastside Medical Office Building standards
- Stewardship of Construction Documents and preparation of Safety Documents on Advocate's behalf
- Prepares and updates life-safety ILSM project documents
- Coordinates and reviews fire evacuation, IDPH comments, and Accrediting Organization comments
- By law, and our internal procedures, all project final construction/permit documents must be archived and available access by Advocate
Education/Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture (or related major)
- 2 or more years prior experience in project management with majority of experience in hospital or health care field
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic skills in computer word processing, scheduling, and accounting spreadsheets
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
- Self-ambulation in order to visit job sites on campus
- Ability to walk on stairs, ladders, climb scaffolding, and visit dusty environments is required
- Traveling to job sites within Bloomington/Normal/Eureka areas, which requires access to a vehicle

$54.90 - $82.35
