Midland 02 (Andrews Hwy) Market - Perishables Rep - Full time

Responsibilities

• Provide a well-stocked and well-maintained department while providing superior customer service.
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product on a daily basis.
• Maintain all department and food safety / sanitation standards.
• Customer Service: Provide superior customer service; take orders from customers by telephone or in person; answer customer questions regarding products and assist them with selections.
• Food Service: Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product; slice, package, label, and rotate products; scan items on Telxon for production; assist in technical areas as needed.
• Sales: Merchandise product effectively; use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales; make regular announcements related to freshly-produced items and to increase sales.
• Food Safety / Sanitation: Clean and sanitize display cases; properly operate/maintain equipment; comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards; comply with departmental SOPs and store operating procedures.
• Aguas (department-specific): Peel, cut, and chop fresh fruits and vegetables; prepare fresh specialty drinks and food products specific to the Aguas department.
• Floral (department-specific): Design floral arrangements; provide a variety of fresh, quality products; design and execute merchandising programs; track seasonal records when appropriate.
• Market (department-specific): Cut, trim, and prepare meat for service at meat counter and self-service counter; ensure proper product rotation and storage; maintain coolers and freezers; weigh, price, and package selections; operate power meat prep and process equipment.
• Produce (department-specific): Stock and rotate product to ensure freshness; assist floral department when needed; communicate product knowledge to customers by explaining and providing samples; cut, wrap, and price produce to be placed on sales floor; maintain signing program.
• Seafood (department-specific): Knowledgeable about various fish and shellfish; weigh, price, and package selections; maintain coolers and freezers.
