Middle School Wrestling Coach

Madison County Public Schools is seeking a Middle School Wrestling Coach to provide direction to student athletes, fostering skill development, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
• Prior experience coaching student athletes strongly preferred
• Knowledge of wrestling rules and regulations
• Strong supervision skills for all players
• Personal skills that reflect positive relations with student-athletes, parents, and the community
• Ability to work collaboratively with students and colleagues
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certified
• Certified in Concussion training
• Adherence to all district policies, rules, and regulations

Responsibilities

• Instruct and teach skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement
• Organize a system to encourage students to try out for the team
• Develop appropriate training programs and practice schedules
• Travel with student athletes on school-assigned buses to all away games
• Cover sporting events as scheduled with the Athletic Director
• Maintain a safe environment for student athletes
• Assist in maintaining high academic standards for all student athletes
• Work cooperatively with other head athletic coaches to operate a well-balanced athletic program
• Ensure all student athletes have undergone and passed medical examinations before the regular practice season
• Assist the Athletic Director and Principal in hiring assistant coaches
• Advise the Athletic Director of equipment and facility conditions and maintenance needs
• Supervise and evaluate all assistant coaches
• Work closely with the Athletic Director
• Perform other duties as assigned
