If you are new to teaching, consider our Teacher Apprentice Program (TAP). This year-long program offers aspiring teachers hands-on classroom experience under the mentorship of expert teachers.

Responsibilities

  • The Admissions Associate will be an essential partner to the Director of Admissions in welcoming families as they learn about Archer, providing day-to-day support for the admissions process, and interacting with a variety of constituents including applicant families, current students and volunteers, Faculty/Staff, feeder schools, and other sending organizations.
  • The History Teacher and Speech/Debate Coach will teach three classes of History, coach the Middle School and Upper School debate teams, and serve as a mentor.
  • The Middle/Upper School English Teacher will engage girls in a purposeful, inquiry-driven curriculum that fosters critical thinking and life-long intellectual curiosity.
  • The Part-time Learning Specialist Long-term Substitute will support student learning profiles that require learning accommodations and educational interventions, serving as a liaison between students, teachers, parents, and outside professionals.
  • The STEAM Teaching Apprentice will foster a love for STEAM disciplines in middle and upper school students and have a strong background in teaching hands-on projects, 3D design and fabrication, physical computing, and shop safety.
  • The Upper School Physics Teacher will support the latest research around how girls learn best, serving 500 girls in grades 6-12.
  • The Fitness & Wellness Teaching Apprentice will develop expertise in teaching athletics and human development courses, emphasizing mental health and media literacy.
  • The Middle School Volleyball Head Coach will emphasize the core values of Archer Athletics including leadership, character, teamwork, and inclusivity.
  • The Upper School Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach, Varsity Softball Assistant Coach, and Upper School Varsity Softball Head Coach will emphasize the values that lie at the core of the athletic program at Archer: leadership, competition, teamwork, and inclusivity.
  • The Upper School Varsity Volleyball Assistant Coach and Head Coach will emphasize the core values of Archer Athletics including leadership, character, teamwork, and inclusivity.

Qualifications

  • For the Admissions Associate, a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in admissions or related field.
  • For the History Teacher and Speech/Debate Coach, a bachelor’s degree in history or a related field, and experience coaching debate teams.
  • For the Middle/Upper School English Teacher, a bachelor’s degree in English or a related field, and experience teaching English at the middle and upper school levels.
  • For the Part-time Learning Specialist Long-term Substitute, a bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field, and experience supporting students with learning disabilities.
  • For the STEAM Teaching Apprentice, a bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field, and experience teaching hands-on projects.
  • For the Upper School Physics Teacher, a bachelor’s degree in physics or a related field, and experience teaching physics at the high school level.
  • For the Fitness & Wellness Teaching Apprentice, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and experience teaching athletics and human development courses.
  • For the Middle School Volleyball Head Coach, a bachelor’s degree and experience coaching volleyball at the middle school level.
  • For the Upper School Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach, a bachelor’s degree and experience coaching soccer at the high school level.
  • For the Upper School Varsity Softball Assistant Coach, a bachelor’s degree and experience coaching softball at the high school level.
  • For the Upper School Varsity Softball Head Coach, a bachelor’s degree and experience coaching softball at the high school level.
  • For the Upper School Varsity Volleyball Assistant Coach, a bachelor’s degree and experience coaching volleyball at the high school level.
  • For the Upper School Varsity Volleyball Head Coach, a bachelor’s degree and experience coaching volleyball at the high school level.
