Ashuelot Valley Academy is a 220-day, non-public special education school serving students in grades 5–12. Our trauma-informed, relationship-driven approach empowers students academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role
As a Middle School Classroom Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting both the academic progress and overall well-being of your students. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, project-based instruction aligned with IEP goals and core curriculum
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Track and report student progress, grades, and IEP outcomes
- Collaborate with academic and clinical staff to support student success
- Implement classroom management and behavioral strategies as needed
- Supervise and guide Teaching Assistants
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and curriculum development
- Maintain documentation including lesson plans, reports, and assessments

Requirements
- Active New Hampshire K–8 Teacher Certification (REQUIRED)
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- At least 21 years of age
Qualifications
- Preferred: Background in Education (English, Math, Science, etc.)
- Preferred: Experience working with youth, especially those with emotional or behavioral needs
- Experience working with children or adolescents in any setting (school, coaching, childcare, etc.)

$45,000+ (based on experience & qualifications)
