Middle School Spanish (GMH/Moncure)

About the Role

George Moses Horton Middle School and Moncure School are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic shared Spanish teacher to join our faculties. The ideal candidate will inspire a love for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures in our 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students.

This position is shared between George Moses Horton Middle School (79 S. Horton St, Pittsboro, NC 27312) and Moncure School (600 Moncure School Rd, Moncure, NC 27559), serving grades 6 through 8.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging Spanish language curriculum for 7th and 8th-grade students
• Create lesson plans that align with North Carolina World Language Essential Standards
• Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
• Assess and evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records
• Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate Spanish into other subject areas
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events as needed
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or related field
• North Carolina teaching license with Spanish (K-12) endorsement, or ability to obtain one
• Fluency in Spanish and English
• Experience teaching Spanish at the middle school level preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Familiarity with technology integration in language instruction
