GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The teacher collaborates in the effective operation of a Catholic education program by supporting the goals and spirit of Catholic education in general and the school programs in particular; ensuring an effective instructional program; continuing in professional growth; encouraging student educational growth.

- Adjusts curriculum and instruction to provide for individual differences
- Demonstrates ability to motivate students
- Maintains an atmosphere conducive to learning in both the physical environment and the learning atmosphere
- Knows and uses technology appropriately in and during instruction

- Develop and deliver rich, student-centered learning experiences around science, working from existing curricular frameworks, texts, and assessments
- Provide in-school tutoring and on-campus supervision duties during the school day
- Willingness to participate in some aspect of the school's extracurricular life, contributing to the school culture and community outside and beyond teaching
- Show interest in continuing professional development in science education
- Enjoy working with students and colleagues in collaborative settings
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Ed or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle, and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists
- May need to climb stairs and lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to 50 pounds
- Respond effectively to, and lead the class in emergency situations
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Work is usually performed in a classroom setting within the time frame established by the Middle Level Dean
- Employee is occasionally required to attend evening meetings and may oversee field trips and other special events
SUPERVISION
- Exercises working supervision over students, Educational Assistants and volunteers, as necessary
