About the role
Hmong College Prep Academy is a Title I Charter School serving students through a school-wide plan for instruction focusing on the needs of at-risk students. The Middle School Personal Finance Teacher is responsible for instructing students in core curriculum areas, supporting the Minnesota Graduation and Common Core Standards, and promoting student achievement.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in core curriculum areas
- Support Minnesota Graduation and Common Core Standards
- Evaluate student performance
- Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge for further education
- Create a flexible classroom environment
- Implement classroom management duties
- Utilize data to adjust instruction and practice
- Maintain accurate records
- Engage with families via phone calls, emails, conferences, and school events
- Foster a learning environment
- Participate in professional development meetings
- Implement new learning based on self-assessment and input from teacher leaders
- Seek opportunities for personal professional growth
- Supervise student activities
Requirements
- Current MN teaching license in secondary education for grades 6-12
- Bachelor's or Master's Teaching Licensure and/or related degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of teaching experience
- Knowledge of instructional technologies
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse student populations
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of the programs, functions, and procedures of a school setting
Qualifications
- Knowledge of multicultural, gender, and disability fair curriculum concepts
- Experience working with children of diverse ethnic backgrounds in an urban school setting
- Experience teaching Personal Finance

Pay
$45,000 - $75,720+, additional lanes may be applied based on the position.
