Position Summary
The Nutrition Worker supports daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position works closely with the Chef-Manager to ensure efficient meal service and compliance with all food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and service of breakfast food and beverages
- Support the Chef-Manager with meal prep for lunch service and future production
- Set up and assist with lunch line service, including serving students
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to students and staff
Qualifications
- Skills: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, basic operation of kitchen equipment, strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures, customer service-oriented mindset, basic math and reading comprehension, ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices (training provided if needed)

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods (majority of shift), frequent walking, bending, lifting, and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Work performed in a kitchen environment with varying temperatures
- Occasional travel to other schools within the district may be required
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, strong communication skills, flexibility to adapt to changing kitchen needs and product availability, experience in food service is preferred but not required (we are willing to train the right candidate)
