Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze student reading and math assessment results
  • Create differentiated lesson plans with independent student work that reflects student need
  • Monitor and supervise all classroom and outdoor activities to assure a safe, healthy and inclusive environment for all children
  • Collaborate daily with grade level teams
  • Build strong relationships with students and families
  • Hold high expectations for students, staff, and families
  • Participate actively in regular meetings and professional development
  • Lead large and small group activities
  • Implement grade level curriculum plans utilizing designated resources
  • Maintains regular and punctual work attendance

Knowledge-base Requirements

  • Knowledge of writing and implementing standards-based lesson plans
  • Training or willingness to be trained in Singapore Math teaching method
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with colleagues and families
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of the Minnesota State Standards
  • Knowledge and experience mapping curriculum
  • Ability to write rigorous assessments that challenge student achievement

Working Conditions

  • Physical Ability: Tasks may involve extended periods of time standing, walking, typing, and writing.
