Middle School Math Teacher

Merryhill School is a multi-location school group that offers an outstanding private education to preschool, elementary, and middle school age students. Our middle school program emphasizes critical thinking, inquiry, and academic curiosity.

Responsibilities

  • Guide students as they deepen their mathematical understanding, strengthen problem-solving skills, and develop the confidence needed to approach complex concepts.
  • Teach general mathematics (grades 5-8) and pre-algebra and algebra concepts.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of middle school learners and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned math lessons.
  • Promote positive social and emotional development in students.
  • Absess and evaluate student progress using a variety of methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded educational experience.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and growth.
  • Maintain a structured, organized, and inspiring classroom environment.
  • Integrate technology to enhance instruction and student engagement.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Teaching certification in math or a related subject preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience, especially at the middle school level, preferred.
  • Strong communication, instructional, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to pass state and federal background checks.

Qualifications

  • A passion for teaching and supporting student development.
