Middle School Learning Specialist (Grades 5-8) Long Term Substitute

Responsibilities
- Provide small-group intervention for students.
- Collaborate and develop relationships with Middle School teaching teams to design differentiated instruction, build accommodations, and modifications into lesson plans and student materials.
- Work with classroom teachers to understand and create a sustainable and effective plan for recommendations of all Psych-Ed evaluations.
- Develop and maintain communication and documentation related to learning support.
- Achieve student growth through data-driven instruction and intervention.
- Build collaborative relationships with families in a way that honors their voices and wisdom as a cherished part of a student’s educational team.
- Attend faculty meetings, division level meetings, professional development opportunities, and perform other duties as determined by the Head of School.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field.
- Master’s degree or equivalent training, strongly preferred.
- Experience working with a variety of students and families.
- Confidence and experience with middle school reading, writing, and mathematics.
- In-depth experience with a broad range of educational technology tools.
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or equivalent training is strongly preferred.

- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students and families.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
- Proficiency in educational technology tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Pay
The daily rate for this long-term substitute position is $X per day, subject to change based on market conditions.
Schedule
This position is a long-term substitute role lasting 12 weeks, starting in September 2026. The schedule includes 40+ hours per week in-person.
