Middle School Language Arts Teacher

About the role

Boyne City Schools is seeking a Middle School Language Arts Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students, fostering literacy skills, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of reading and writing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, research-based English Language Arts instruction aligned with State of Michigan benchmarks.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote high student engagement and a positive, productive learning environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and ability levels of all students within the same classroom.
• Seamlessly integrate technology into daily lessons to enhance learning experiences and outcomes.
• Collaborate actively and effectively with content and grade-level teams to achieve individual classroom, building, and district-wide educational goals.
• Contribute positively to the school community, potentially through coaching, advising, or supporting extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• An active Michigan Teaching Certificate with a BX code or similar.
• Desired: Additional teaching endorsements.
• Demonstrated experience and a proven track record of success working with adolescent-aged students.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• A strong team player with a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and a genuine willingness to contribute to a collaborative professional learning community.

Terms Of Employment

This is a full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year, operating under the terms of the current union contract.
