Responsibilities
- Teach middle school courses in English and Social Studies and leads an advisory.
- Foster a classroom environment that is conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of young women.
- Collaborate with other middle school teachers in the division to support student learning.
- Collaborate with other middle school teachers to plan curriculum and cross-curricular enrichment.
- Communicate effectively and consistently with students, parents, staff, and community.
- Maintain appropriate records, student progress reports, and follow required procedures and practices.
- Integrate the use and care of technology, equipment, materials, and facilities adequately.
- An active commitment to enhancing our school community through involvement on committees and in student life activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in English or Social Studies education or general education with experience at the middle/secondary level.
- Teacher preparation program completion or certification preferred.
- Strong commitment to inquiry-based learning and laboratory investigations.
- Knowledge of best practices and strategies to effectively engage students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills among students.
- Familiarity or experience teaching with Common Core or State ELA and/or social studies standards.
- Commitment to embrace the school's mission and values, with a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
- Willingness to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administration, parents, and the wider community.

Pay
Pay is commensurate with education and experience, and is calculated according to a school-wide pay scale. ($50,000 - $102,000)
