Middle School ELA/Social Studies Teacher

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate passion for and expertise in reading, writing, speech, and other secondary ELA content
- Provide world-class instruction in ELA to middle and high school students
- Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education or ELA-related field (i.e. English, Creative Writing, European Literature, etc.), previous experience working with middle school and high school students, alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
- Preferred Qualifications: Valid Michigan teaching certificate with a secondary ELA endorsement (BQ or BX preferred but possible to accept other subject specific endorsements depending on exact role), previous teaching experience in an urban setting, training in CRPBIS and other related instructional methodologies
