Middle School Computer Teacher

Reports to: Principal • Status: Exempt • Itinerant location: 100 Poplar, Buffalo, NY

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Master’s degree in content area preferred
• NYS Teaching Certification preferred
• Experience in classroom teaching preferred
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and human-relations skills
• Ability to work with a diverse community

Pay

• Starting salary: $48,500 (with Master’s Degree & NYS Certification)
• Annual raise: $1,500
• Salary range: $48,500 – $62,500

Responsibilities

Instructional

• Manage classroom environment to promote student development
• Facilitate student learning and communicate progress to families
• Provide direct instruction and monitor student progress
• Align curriculum with standards and stay current with teaching methodologies
• Provide students with frequent and accurate behavioral and academic feedback
• Identify students who are academically at risk and execute effective intervention strategies
• Consistently use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices

Non-Instructional

• Mentor assigned teachers, interns, and teacher aides
• Maintain accurate grade and attendance records
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues
• Attend parent/teacher conferences and staff meetings
• Supervise field trips, school clubs, and extracurricular activities
• Ensure classroom cleanliness and confidentiality of student information

Additional Duties

• Submit annual plans and implement school policies
• Participate in professional development and home visits
• Attend staff meetings and collaboration sessions
• Perform additional duties as directed
