Middle School Boys Basketball Coach

About the role

The position is available for a part-time Middle School Boys Basketball Coach at Houghton Lake Community Schools. The coach will be responsible for leading the boys basketball team and providing support to the athletic department.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a coaching strategy that aligns with the school's mission and values.
• Manage the team's practices and games, ensuring adherence to league rules and regulations.
• Work closely with the athletic director and other coaches to coordinate team activities and events.
• Provide support to student athletes in areas such as academic performance, personal development, and behavior management.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
• At least three years of successful coaching experience at the middle school level.
• Experience working with diverse populations and promoting equity and inclusion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of current best practices in youth sports coaching.
• Passion for supporting student athletes' holistic development.
