Middle School Assistant Coach- Boys Soccer

About the role

Location: Brookland Middle School - 9200 Lydell Road, Henrico. The assistant coach supports the head coach in all aspects of the school's sports program, including coordinating high-level practice sessions and providing exceptional leadership and coaching for student-athletes during regional and state competitions. The assistant coach will play a role in ensuring the safe travel of student-athletes to and from games and competitions and maintain the highest standards of sportsmanship and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in the organization of the overall program.
• Assist in the supervision of student-athletes during daily practices and at games.
• Prepare players both physically and mentally for interscholastic competition through practice, teaching fundamental skills, and knowledge of rules.
• Assist in the cleaning, storage, and proper care of all team equipment.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a public-school athletic program.
• Proven ability to coordinate high-level practice sessions.
• Proven ability to provide exceptional leadership and coaching for student-athletes during all competitions.
• Prior experience in preparing athletes for interscholastic competitions.
• Successful completion of FBI Criminal History Investigation, State Police Criminal History Investigation, Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation, and Tuberculosis Screening/Test.

Pay

Minimum stipend amount: $1,702.73 per season (annual/season stipend will be prorated based on actual start date if the assignment has already begun; if the position is shared between two candidates, the stipend will be split).
