Middle School Assistant Coach- Boys Basketball (Winter)
Hourly/Temporary position at Quioccasin Middle School, 9400 Quioccasin Road, Henrico. Posting Date: 09-11-2026. Closing Date: 10-12-2026.
General Statement of Duties
The assistant coach supports the head coach in all aspects of the school's sports program, including coordinating high-level practice sessions and providing exceptional leadership and coaching for student-athletes during regional and state competitions. The assistant coach will play a role in ensuring the safe travel of student-athletes to and from games and competitions and maintain the highest standards of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Essential Duties
- Assist the head coach in the organization of the overall program.
- Assist in the supervision of student-athletes during daily practices and at games.
- Prepares players both physically and mentally for interscholastic competition through practice, teaching fundamental skills, and knowledge of rules.
- Assists in the cleaning, storage, and proper care of all team equipment.
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a public-school athletic program.
- Proven ability to coordinate high-level practice sessions.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional leadership and coaching for student-athletes during all competitions.
- Prior experience in preparing athletes for interscholastic competitions.
Pay
Minimum Stipend Amount: $1,702.73 Annual/Season. Stipend amount will be prorated based on actual start date if the assignment has already begun. In the event the position is shared between two candidates, the stipend will be split.
