The successful candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Art or Art Education, experience in the field, and an interest in collaborating with a team of teachers. Job Responsibilities And Opportunities Include Teaching general art classes for grades 5 - 8, and offering an after-school middle school art club one day per week.Working with a group of advisees and supporting the social-emotional needs of studentsDirector for middle school Art exhibitsDeveloping the art program, including working with the Lower and Upper School art faculty for cross-divisional exhibits at school and in the communityWorking collaboratively with the team of Visual and Performing Arts teachers and other colleaguesCollaborating with other performing arts faculty in planning and producing the annual Grandparents’/Special Persons’ Day performance Writing narrative comments about students at the conclusion of each termServing on committees and occasional supervision or other duties around the school Sayre’s mission focuses on fostering academic excellence, embracing challenge, and cultivating integrity.
