Middle Office Specialist

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)

Salary: $145k–$180k + bonus

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the trade operations team at one of the world’s largest algorithmic trading firms. You will play a key role in managing trade lifecycle processes, including settlements, reconciliations, and inventory optimization, while ensuring accuracy in high-value transactions that directly impact P&L. Working closely with traders and cross-functional teams, you will help streamline operational workflows, drive process improvements, and support regulatory requirements across digital assets. The ideal candidate will bring experience in a high-volume, multi-asset environment, strong analytical and Excel skills, with curiosity around crypto, blockchain, and DeFi.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full settlement process for digital assets, coordinating directly with counterparties to confirm figures and ensure timely transfer of assets.
• Apply strong attention to detail to reduce risk, ensuring high-value transactions are executed accurately with no impact to P&L.
• Partner with trading teams to optimize asset allocation and distribution across venues for maximum efficiency.
• Manage end-to-end middle office operations across equities (stocks and ETFs), options, futures, and FX, including reconciliations, settlements, corporate actions, and dividends.
• Help design, implement, and enhance operational workflows and controls to improve scalability and efficiency.
• Work closely with Trading, Finance, Compliance, and Legal teams to assess and address regulatory requirements across products.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in middle office or trade operations within a high-volume, complex financial services environment
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a quantitative field
• Strong Excel proficiency combined with a track record of driving process improvements and enhancing operational efficiency
• Solid understanding of trading workflows and a genuine interest in financial markets, with curiosity around blockchain, crypto, and DeFi

Skills

• Technical aptitude, including exposure to databases/SQL and the ability to read or write basic Python scripts, is highly advantageous
