Responsibilities
- Salary Range: $81,700/yr. - $165,100/yr.
- Underwrite complex bilateral and syndicated credit facilities for Middle Market clients across general industries.
- Evaluate, structure, and underwrite credit facilities, including conducting due diligence, building financial models, assessing borrower risk, and preparing credit approval materials.
- Develop and evaluate capital structures, sources and uses of funds, and collateral packages, participating in legal documentation review and negotiations.
- Monitor asset quality, covenant compliance, and financial performance of assigned clients, collaborating with Relationship Managers to ensure ongoing credit health and proactive risk management.
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory reviews, serving as a subject matter expert in underwriting and providing consultative support to internal teams.
- Engage with clients and legal counsel to validate business plans and transaction terms, partnering with Treasury Management and other internal teams to support client needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field OR equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently understand, analyze, and interpret financial statements.
- Knowledge of risks associated with lending to various types of industries.
- Basic knowledge of loan structuring, borrowing causes, and lending regulations; ability to comply and conform to ONB lending policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Ability to actively listen, quickly identify issues and opportunities, and problem-solve in real-time.
- Experience within Middle Market C&I Credit, with each incremental level of responsibility.
- Expertise in financial modeling, legal documentation, and complex deal structuring.
- Strong understanding of market trends and regulatory frameworks across specialty segments.
- General banking experience – at least five years of Middle Market C&I Credit experience.
