About the role

The role of Portfolio Manager II involves supporting Middle Market Banking business development by identifying and calling prospects and referrals, coordinating calling efforts, and assisting in the cross-selling of banking products. This position also includes managing and monitoring an existing portfolio of clients, reviewing financial statements, and presenting loan presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Support Middle Market Banking business development
  • Identify and call prospects and referrals
  • Coordinate calling efforts with Bank team partners
  • Assist in cross-selling of banking products
  • Manage and monitor an existing portfolio of clients
  • Review financial statements and present loan presentations
  • Lead underwriting on loan presentations
  • Assist in the review and structuring of large complex transactions
  • Negotiate credit terms and legal documentation with clients and referrals
  • Manage and deepen relationships with existing clients
  • Acquire new clients through the review and structuring of large complex transactions
  • Monitor client relationship for compliance with credit standards
  • Participate in community and business functions
  • Build rapport with clients and fellow associates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in specialty or commercial banking
  • Related specialty banking or finance experience

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or certification in the field
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in specialty or commercial banking
  • Industry specific credit background
  • Moody’s Risk Analyst experience
  • Completed formal credit training program
  • Strong communication, writing, and sales skills

Work Environment

Office setting with traditional hours. Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours). Must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday. Must be able to work overtime to the extent necessary. Must be able to work additional hours outside routine business hours to the extent necessary. Must be able to travel – estimated at 25% of the time.
