About the role

Responsible for the overall performance of Middle Market Banking in the region, including client service quality, balance sheet quality, profitability, growth, and Risk Management. Drives a consistent client experience positioning Truist as the Premier Advisory Bank in the Middle Market segment (defined as $75-500MM in annual sales). Integrates all banking functions in the local market, including retail teams and line of business (LOB) partners, such as Commercial Credit and Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) partners.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary sales leader for a team of Middle Market Bankers, ensuring Truist Culture and Sales Processes are effectively executed.
  • Coordinate prospect and client assignments with Business Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Commercial, Dealer, Senior Care, and other leaders using Truist segmentation philosophy.
  • Develop and execute a focused marketing plan to grow new relationships and expand existing client relationships.
  • Meet loan, deposit, and fee-based revenue expectations for the team.
  • Manage weekly sales activities, including facilitating Monday sales calls, inspecting calling and referral activity, managing pipeline, and holding Relationship Managers accountable through Friday debriefs.
  • Deliver a differentiated client experience in all interactions with clients, prospects, and centers of influence using Financial Insights and other strategic advisory tools.
  • Develop new business client relationships and improve market share of business loans and non-credit services, including deposits.
  • Execute Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) with inclusion of IRM partners in sales meetings, joint calling, and development of custom solutions, including serving retail banking needs for clients' owners/management/associates (e.g., Wealth Management, Truist@Work).
  • Assume responsibility for the profitability, quality, liquidity, and growth of the team's assigned middle market loan portfolios, including credit proposal write-ups, file documentation, legal documentation, compliance, loan closings, and managing problem/delinquent credit relationships.
  • Ensure adequate data integrity and risk management.
  • Interpret and ensure communication of and adherence to the Bank's policies, programs, and objectives.
  • Responsible for employment decisions, including training, performance ratings, salary changes, promotions, transfers, terminations, and career enhancement for the Middle Market team.
  • Support Community Advisory Board activities.
  • Participate in civic, government, professional, business, and community affairs to solicit new business.
  • May also serve as an individual contributor with an individual portfolio of clients and production expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training.
  • Ten years of experience in financial services.
  • Ability to grasp large, complex Middle Market C&I credits clearly.
  • Proficient in managing large and complex corporate relationships; knowledgeable in complex credit products and structuring, including loan syndication, participations, and Industry and Specialty Advisory solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, capable of leading and developing Middle Market Bankers using the Truist leadership philosophy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA).
