About the role

We’re looking for a motivated and customer-oriented Account Manager II to maintain and grow existing client accounts through the direct sales channel. The goal is to present Eurofins Discovery’s full capabilities, provide tailored solutions, and build long-term partnerships by understanding and addressing customer needs while delivering excellent interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts independently, with input from your manager, to maintain and grow sales in alignment with customer goals.
  • Determine and implement optimum marketing and sales outreach strategies on an account-by-account basis to ensure customers are aware of relevant offerings.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers, acting as the single point of contact to address their needs as they arise.
  • Collaborate closely with internal technical teams and client services to present offerings, close business, and facilitate CDA and MSA processes as needed.
  • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions by leveraging internal resources.
  • Report on account status and transactions monthly to sales leaders and present territory performance to internal teams as required.
  • Set and track sales account targets aligned with company objectives, reporting progress monthly.
  • Develop and monitor business plans for each account, including KPIs, and adjust strategies based on changes in customer needs.
  • Provide voice-of-customer feedback and market intelligence to internal product management and marketing stakeholders.
  • Maintain CRM accuracy and use it for account management and business forecasting.
  • Track organizational changes within customer accounts (e.g., staff changes, acquisitions) and pursue new business opportunities as relevant.
  • Develop quarterly and annual sales forecasts based on account business plans.
  • Monitor sales metrics (e.g., quarterly results, annual forecasts) and suggest actions to improve performance or identify growth opportunities.
  • Encourage transactional sales to shift to eCom through customer education and monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a technical background in drug discovery-related disciplines; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years in inside sales, account management, or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Proven experience as a sales account manager in the life sciences or a related field.
  • Technical depth sufficient for sales development in drug discovery.
  • Strong sales skills, including negotiation, customer management, and price leveraging.
  • Hands-on sales experience with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
  • Knowledge of CRM software and MS Office.
  • Ability to prioritize time for maximum business impact.
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics and data analysis for reporting.
  • Drug discovery knowledge or experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned customer territories.
  • Ability to meet face-to-face with customers and conduct effective meetings.
  • Proficiency with remote communication tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Schedule

Full-time, remote position working Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with additional hours as needed. Candidates currently living in the Midwest are encouraged to apply.
