Mid to High Level ResidentialInsurance Inspector

About the role

This is a CONTRACT position (1099). Signature Companies is looking for experienced Residential Insurance Inspectors to visit property owners in your area to perform interior insurance inspections and high-value dwelling inspections.

Responsibilities

• Visit properties, take photos and measurements, and make note of issues that should be brought to the underwriter’s attention.
• Complete and submit your report online after the visit.
• The report is checked for quality before being forwarded to the underwriting staff.
• Most of the work is done in the field, while reports are written from home and forwarded to Signature.
• Inspectors need to complete all inspections within 21 days, but can set their own schedule.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation
• A digital camera
• High-speed internet access
• An excellent knowledge of Microsoft products
• A measuring wheel or similar device
• Ability to quickly turn around high-quality work
• Good organization skills

Qualifications

• Prior underwriting experience preferred
• Prior inspection experience on residential homes
• Loss control experience preferred
• Construction experience preferred
• Computer competencies in Windows and internet environment required
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred
• CPCU or IIA certification preferred

Skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft products
• Ability to drive to and conduct surveys
• Ability to write reports from home
• Ability to identify underwriting concerns
• Ability to recommend ways to prevent future losses
