Prescient Edge is seeking a Mid. Special Security Technician to support a federal government client in Huntsville, AL.
About the Role
Assist the Special Security Officer (SSO) to ensure control of access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and SCI Facilities (SCIFs). Responsibilities include:
- Certifying and receiving SCI visitor clearances/accesses
- Conducting SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings, and training on classified material/SSO-related topics
- Obtaining signed nondisclosure agreements
- Providing guidance and assistance for processing SCI position and eligibility requests for assigned military, Government, and contractor personnel
Serve as a Controlled Access Program (CAP) security specialist for lifecycle program protection management for USSPACECOM. Implement protocols to actively reduce risks of espionage, terrorism, and unauthorized disclosure or compromise of critical information or material.
- Develop, implement, and integrate CAP program protection requirements supporting USSPACECOM essential program information, operations, technologies, and systems
- Act as the CAP/Special Access Program (SAP)/Special Access Required (SAR) subject matter expert, providing detailed knowledge of DoD, IC, services, and mission partners' policies, plans, and procedures
- Recommend and execute "cradle to grave" security and program protection for USSPACECOM operations and equities
- Train and manage personnel on CAP/SAP program protection requirements and processes
- Provide CAP/SAP/SAR security operations, analysis decisions, and recommendations in formats meeting DoD and USSPACECOM requirements
Other duties may include:
- Audits of classified material
- Inspections of classified material storage facilities/SCIFs/containers
- Researching and preparing classified material-related policy, management recommendations, and reports
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with a CI POLY or the ability to obtain one
Qualifications
Desired Experience
- 8 years of experience relevant to the specific labor category, with at least 4 years within the last 2 years
Desired Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
- An additional 4 years of experience (totaling 12 years) may substitute for the bachelor’s degree
