Mid Shift Trailer Inspector

About the role

Prime, Inc. seeks a hard‑working, positive individual to inspect, maintain, and make minor repairs/adjustments to tractor and trailer equipment, ensuring DOT compliance and safe operating conditions. This is a mid‑shift position.

Responsibilities

• Inspect units entering and exiting the yard for DOT mechanical compliance.
• Inspect tires, lights, and other exterior components for safe operating conditions.
• Perform DOT inspections.
• Repair, replace, and adjust malfunctioning equipment to meet regulatory and manual specifications.
• Ensure timely and authorized movement of equipment.
• Refuel equipment as required.
• Track and account for all fuel and inspection‑bay inventory.
• Lift and carry up to 105 lbs and push/pull up to 115 lbs when working with heavy equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a job‑specific post‑offer physical.
• Physical ability to lift/carry 105 lbs and push/pull 115 lbs; constant standing, frequent walking, head turning, stooping, squatting, reaching, grasping.
• Wear steel‑toed footwear and safety glasses (PPE provided).
• Flexible schedule – ability to work nights and weekends.
• Strong work history and mechanical knowledge (industrial experience a plus).

Pay

Average pay $55,000 per year, based on performance and bonuses; top 20% of earners make over $65,000. Unlimited overtime available.

Schedule

Mid‑shift schedule: Wednesday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m., with every other Wednesday off.
