About the Role
We are looking for an Automated Test Engineer who shares our drive to push boundaries and build secure, data-driven applications that make a real difference. In this role, you will work within a collaborative, cross-functional Agile environment alongside developers and systems engineers. You will ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of mission-critical systems while integrating robust automated test suites into continuous delivery pipelines to validate functional enhancements and support ongoing tool modernizations.
Location & Work Environment: Primary Location: Annapolis Junction, MD. Work Style: On-site with up to 2 days per week of telework flexibility available.
Required Skills
- Clearance: Active Fully-Cleared with TS/SCI Polygraph.
- Test Automation: Proven experience independently designing, writing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable automated UI and API test scripts utilizing Cypress (must be explicitly detailed on resume).
- Programming Languages: Direct proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for automated test script development.
- Target Environment Testing: Comprehensive experience testing modern web applications, RESTful microservices, and APIs.
- QA Methodologies: Strong understanding of foundational software QA processes, industry-standard methodologies, and core validation tools.
- Agile Collaboration: Practical experience working within Agile software development frameworks and utilizing team tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Version Control: Hands-on experience managing code repositories with Git.
Qualifications
- Experience Level: Mid to Senior level. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Test Engineer, Systems Engineer, or QA Specialist on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional software/testing experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree (totaling 11 years of experience).
Desired Skills
- Pipeline Integration: Experience configuring and seamlessly integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD) for rapid deployment feedback.
- Cloud Environments: Familiarity with Cloud-based architecture and deployment strategies utilizing Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Containerization: Basic understanding of container environments (Docker) to consistently test applications across environments.
- Domain Expertise: Familiarity with domain knowledge surrounding government agency reporting protocols and dissemination policies.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $150,000 - $250,000 (USD) base annual salary. Actual compensation offered may vary based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
