Responsibilities
- Participate in a SAFe Agile Scrum team environment with a focus on iterative design and continuous improvement
- Elicit and review requirements and translate them into wireframes, workflows, prototypes, and visual design specifications
- Author additional requirements related to interaction design and workflow logic
- Iterate on designs based on qualitative and quantitative research insights and stakeholder input
- Create and manage UI assets, interaction states, tokens, and design documentation to support development
- Contribute to design system components, patterns, and guidelines using atomic design principles
- Collaborate with analysts, developers, product owners, stakeholders, and other UX professionals to integrate user insights, behavioral data, and business needs into informed design decisions
- Participate actively in collaborative design reviews, presenting design rationale, offering constructive critique, and iterating on solutions to ensure usability, consistency, and alignment with modernization goals
- Collaborate with developers to ensure design feasibility and accurate implementation
- Prepare specs, documentation, and assets for seamless developer handoff
- Conduct basic usability checks or support UX research with testing activities
- Ensure consistency across the application and align designs with modernization objectives
- Ensure all design deliverables comply with security, handling, and data-protection guidelines
- Communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and team members
Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Level 1 or higher IAT Certification (A+ CE, Security+, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, SSCP)
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), with preference to coursework in Graphic & Web Design, Digital/Interactive Media, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience Design (UXD), Interaction Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Front-end Web Development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated Proficiency in modern design tools, with a strong preference for Figma
- Demonstrated ability to create wireframes, visual layouts, user flows, and interactive prototypes
- Solid understanding of responsive design and web accessibility requirements
- Familiarity with front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, component frameworks)
- Demonstrated Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development lifecycle (SAFe Agile experience is a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team environment, maintaining productivity and accountability in both settings
- A professional portfolio with case studies demonstrating user-centered design solutions, responsive layouts, and prototype execution, especially examples of modernizing complex legacy systems
