About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer (Level 1) to join our dynamic development team in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role, you will work across the full software development lifecycle—designing, coding, testing, and maintaining diverse software systems ranging from processing-intensive analytics and novel algorithms to large-scale data repositories and event-driven architectures. Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and maintain diverse software systems
- Work with processing-intensive analytics and novel algorithms
- Develop large-scale data repositories and event-driven architectures
- Debug existing codebases
- Implement continuous integration pipelines

Required Skills
- Core Software Development: Hands-on software development experience using primary languages such as Java (J2EE, Eclipse IDE), C, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl, or JavaScript
- Unix/Linux Environment: Solid experience developing within Unix operating environments, including writing and debugging Unix shell scripts
- Agile & Version Control: Practical experience using Agile software development methodologies and source code version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Testing & Documentation: Ability to write clear technical documentation, analyze user requirements, design software features, and create/execute comprehensive software component test procedures
- Configuration & Collaboration: Working knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) tools and experience using enterprise collaboration suites (e.g., Atlassian JIRA/Confluence)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, Finance/Economics, or a related discipline, PLUS 2+ years of specialized data analytics or financial intelligence experience
- OR Master's Degree in a related field, PLUS 0+ years of specialized analytical experience
- OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 6+ years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience in lieu of a degree
- Active security clearance at the TS/SCI Polygraph level is required
Desired Skills
- Experience with modern containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)
- Exposure to continuous integration (CI/CD) practices and automated build pipelines
- Familiarity with orchestration frameworks (e.g., Spring, Apache Kafka) and queue management systems
- Experience developing relational and non-relational database applications, including writing data queries
- Background in developing event-driven or data-driven analytics and novel algorithms
- Understanding of Web Services implementations, Open Source Software (OSS), and COTS/GOTS integration

Pay
The annual base salary range for this role is $199,000–$235,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or the comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
