About the role
Torch Technologies is seeking a Mid-Level Software Design Engineer with strong experience in C#, relational databases, and full stack web applications. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of software systems in a predominantly Windows environment, while working on an Agile development team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications primarily in C#.
- Work extensively in Windows development and deployment environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, maintainable software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices.
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
- Work with APIs to integrate data across multiple business applications.
- Debug, profile, and optimize applications for performance, stability, and reliability.
Requirements
- US Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 5-10+ years of experience in software development.
- Extensive experience with C# and object-oriented programming.
- Extensive experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with web application UI frameworks and JavaScript.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external users.
- Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with .NET (for new development and maintenance on legacy software).
- Experience with React (for new development).
- Experience with integrating data across multiple SQL databases using APIs and imports from external file sources.
- General familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with automation, build tooling, or DevOps practices.
- Exposure to additional programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, etc.) is beneficial for supporting or interfacing with surrounding systems.
