Mid-Level Shipboard Technician (Non POR)

About the role

This on-site position is located at Navy bases, Naval Shipyards, and onboard Navy ships in Chesapeake, VA. There are no remote or hybrid work opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with new installations and/or life cycle upgrades for shipboard IT networks and equipment.
• Provide shipboard training to crew members for LAN and IT equipment operation.
• Interface and coordinate daily with customer representatives, shipboard personnel, and other contractors providing specialized LAN or network communications support.
• Prepare and provide daily work reports.
• Respond to queries for ad hoc data and network configuration and inventory reports.
• Provide general infrastructure support, including responding to and updating trouble calls utilizing NESD.
• Perform break-fix troubleshooting and analysis of problems to return equipment, Microsoft Windows systems, or networks to normal operational status.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• SEC+ certification or equivalent.
• Must provide own PPE (Hard Hats, reflective Safety vest) while working in a shipyard environment.
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to travel is required.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this role is $68,000 to $72,000 annually. The final starting salary will be determined based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, work location, internal equity, and market considerations.
