Mid-Level Shipboard Technician (Non POR)

Our team in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Mid‑Level Shipboard Technician (Non POR)/IT Technician 2 to provide general infrastructure support on Navy bases, shipyards, and aboard Navy ships. This on‑site role involves responding to trouble calls, break‑fix troubleshooting, and repairing Microsoft Windows systems and networks to restore normal operation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with new installations and life‑cycle upgrades for shipboard IT networks and equipment.
• Provide shipboard training to crew members on LAN and IT equipment operation.
• Interface and coordinate daily with customer representatives, shipboard personnel, and other contractors providing specialized LAN or network communications support.
• Prepare and submit daily work reports.
• Respond to queries for ad‑hoc data, network configuration, and inventory reports.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• SEC+ certification or equivalent.

Additional Requirements

• Provide own personal protective equipment (hard hat, reflective safety vest) for shipyard work.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Employment eligibility verified through E‑Verify.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this role is $68,000 to $72,000 annually. Final starting salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, work location, internal equity, and market considerations.
