Mid-Level Full Stack AWS Engineer
Active security clearance at the TS/SCI polygraph level is required.
About the role
We are seeking a versatile Full-Stack AWS & AI/ML Software Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role, you’ll be a core problem-solver delivering high-impact solutions. You will focus on building intuitive graphical user interfaces and dashboards, deploying and managing applications in an AWS cloud environment, executing tech transfer initiatives to integrate new capabilities into established tools, automating critical workflows, and embedding AI/ML models into active systems to enhance operational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly GUIs and interactive dashboards using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Deploy and manage applications in an AWS cloud environment.
- Execute tech transfer initiatives to integrate new capabilities into established tools.
- Automate critical workflows using Python scripting and workflow orchestration tools.
- Embed AI/ML models into active systems to enhance operational decision-making.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Apply DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker, and cloud security best practices.
Requirements
- Proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Solid foundation in Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong working knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway, DynamoDB/RDS).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for provisioning cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, AWS Step Functions).
- Basic experience integrating AI/ML models into web applications or backend pipelines.
- Core understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization using Docker, cloud security best practices, version control with Git, and unit/integration testing frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an Agile environment, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or Engineering Management, plus 7+ years of professional systems engineering experience on programs of similar scope and complexity.
- OR High School Diploma / GED, plus 11+ years of hands-on technical systems engineering and architecture experience in lieu of a degree.
Skills
- Preferred Language: Hands-on experience or proficiency with TypeScript.
- Advanced Experience: Monitoring and optimizing AI/ML model performance in production settings.
- Background: Tech transfer initiatives—taking prototypes or emerging tools and integrating them into existing enterprise platforms.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this role is $151,000-$178,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
