About the role
Turnberry Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and AWS services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity across all stages of the pipeline.
- Optimize data processing workflows to improve performance and reduce latency.
- Work closely with data scientists and analysts to integrate data from various sources into a unified data store.
- Document and maintain codebase to ensure reproducibility and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering, preferably in a professional environment.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data warehousing.
- Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Hive, and Spark.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- Experience with data modeling and database design.
- Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
- Experience with machine learning and AI tools.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
