Mid-Level Auto Painter - 2nd Shift -$4,000 Bonus

About the role

As a Mid‑Level Painter you’ll be expected to match/mix paint color and use water‑based paint to paint the vehicle inside our paint booths. You’ll work with state‑of‑the‑art tools in one of our high‑tech Inspection Centers. Carvana offers training programs for entry‑level hires to help skills and pay progress with the company. In addition to the Mid‑Level Painter role, Carvana has other paint positions such as Paint Prepper (≥6 months experience), Entry‑Level Painter (≥1 year), and Experienced Painter (≥5 years) covering tasks from prep work to base/clear coats, blending, and paint correction.

Responsibilities

• Match and mix paint colors.
• Apply water‑based paint to vehicles in paint booths.
• Prepare vehicles for paint (sanding, masking, taping, bagging, unbagging/tear down, buffing) – as needed for the role.
• Perform final sanding, priming, touch‑up, and airbrush work as required.
• Blend adjacent panels and correct paint finishes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment using required safety equipment (face shield/goggles, non‑slip shoes, gloves, mask, etc.).

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of professional automotive painting experience (Mid‑Level Painter).
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently.
• At least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Willingness to work mandatory overtime based on business needs.

Qualifications

Experience operating vehicle equipment and tools in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing production environment, sometimes exposed to excessive weather conditions (heat/cold). Familiarity with safety equipment such as face shield or goggles, non‑slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments.

Pay

Pay range: $25 – $33 per hour.

Schedule

Full‑time schedule with mandatory overtime as needed to meet customer delivery commitments.
