About the Role
Valiant is seeking a Temporary Mid-Level All-Source Intelligence Analyst to support national security initiatives by analyzing intelligence from multiple sources and providing actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis using intelligence and information from multiple sources to assess, interpret, forecast, and explain national security issues and developments.
- Provide all-source analytic support to collections, operations, investigations, and other defense intelligence requirements.
- Monitor global natural and man-made hazards/disasters impacting National Guard equities, properties, personnel, and equipment; deliver analytical support and briefing products.
- Track information relevant to NGB J2 Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIR) or NGB Chief’s Critical Information Requirements (CCIR).
- Monitor and action requests for information/assistance (RFI/RFA) from JFHQs within 4 hours; provide status updates to NGB J2 leadership.
- During all-hazard events, acquire situational knowledge from lead federal agencies, interagency partners, and impacted state/territory JFHQs.
- Report federal Incident Awareness and Assessment (IAA) capabilities to NGB J23 and support coordination calls with JFHQ-State’s J2 within two hours.
- Assist impacted states with collection requirements and analytical tools.
- Create unclassified and classified analytical products (e.g., IAA, Homeland Defense, Cyber Intelligence, Critical Infrastructure) using all-source, publicly available, and geospatial data.
- Comply with Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Analytic Tradecraft Standards for product creation, review, editing, and publishing.
- Brief products to National Guard senior leaders and publish for nationwide distribution.
- Provide analytic products at least weekly, or as dictated by operational requirements.
- Deploy in advance of or with the National Guard Joint Liaison Team (JLT) to support JFHQ-State or National Guard JLT operations (average of 10 events per year).
- Advise JFHQ-J2 on IAA-related matters and report back to NGB.
- Provide twice-daily Executive Summaries (EXSUMs) to NGB J23.
- Support state response efforts for up to 12 hours daily without days off, based on impacted state(s) operational hours.
- Update the IAA Continuity Book with procedural changes within 48 hours and maintain the Continuity Book Summary of Changes Log Sheet.
- Work in a shift environment based on operational demands, including 24/7 shifts during contingency events.
- Provide 12+ hours of support during operational contingencies as required.
- Work from alternate locations (e.g., partner agencies in Washington, D.C., or other areas) during continuity/contingency events (forecasted 4 times/year, averaging 14 days per event).
