Mid Data Analyst / Power BI Developer

About the role

AAG is hiring a Mid Data Analyst/Power BI Developer in the Norfolk, VA area to support our client. The development team currently embraces a hybrid work model of two days on-site at Little Creek Amphibious Base and three days remote (this is not guaranteed, but likely to continue for the foreseeable future).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into technical solutions
• Perform data modeling, data transformation, and calculations
• Integrate data from multiple sources to create comprehensive reports
• Optimize Power BI data models and performance
• Provide data analysis and visualization to support decision-making processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve data and performance issues
• Maintain documentation for data models, reports, and processes

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Power BI development
• Proficient in data modeling, DAX, and Power Query
• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Strong understanding of data visualization best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience managing data sets with multiple data types for analysis
• Ability to use Microsoft Access to include creating reports, forms, and queries
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment supporting client requirements
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, or Computer Science (Recommended)
• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst (Preferred)
• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Preferred)
• Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) (Preferred)
• SQL Certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) (Preferred)
