Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Microsoft Fabric-based healthcare data platforms supporting payer, provider, and life sciences analytics.
- Architect lakehouse and data warehouse solutions using OneLake and Fabric Warehouse.
- Develop frameworks for clinical, claims, and operational healthcare data ingestion and transformation.
- Define architecture patterns for large-scale healthcare data processing and analytics.
- Design data pipelines in Fabric Data Factory for ingesting healthcare datasets from EMR/EHR systems, claims platforms, and third-party healthcare systems.
- Integrate healthcare data from sources such as: Electronic Health Records (EHR), Claims and payer systems, Healthcare IoT and monitoring devices, Pharmacy and lab systems.
- Implement lakehouse architectures using Delta tables within OneLake.
- Support ingestion of structured, semi-structured, and real-time healthcare data streams.
- Achieve enterprise analytics solutions using Power BI within Microsoft Fabric.
- Enable clinical dashboards, payer analytics, patient journey analytics, and operational healthcare insights.
- Design semantic models optimized for healthcare reporting and population health analytics.
- Enable real-time healthcare monitoring using Fabric Real-Time Analytics.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, PHI protection, and healthcare data privacy standards.
- Implement secure data access controls, encryption, and data masking policies.
- Establish data lineage, metadata management, and governance frameworks.
- Support secure sharing of healthcare datasets across organizations.
- Optimize data pipelines, compute resources, and analytics workloads within Microsoft Fabric.
- Design scalable healthcare data lakehouse architectures capable of handling large patient datasets.
- Implement monitoring frameworks for data reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with clinical, healthcare analytics, and IT leadership teams.
- Provide architectural guidance to data engineers, BI developers, and healthcare analysts.
- Lead architecture reviews and solution design workshops.
- Mentor engineering teams on healthcare data platform best practices.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Microsoft Fabric Platform: Microsoft Fabric architecture and implementation, OneLake and Lakehouse architecture, Fabric Data Factory, Synapse Data Engineering, Synapse Data Warehousing, Real-Time Analytics, Power BI integration.
- Healthcare Data Expertise: Healthcare data models and analytics, Claims and payer data processing, Clinical data analytics, Healthcare interoperability standards, Population health analytics, Healthcare Data Standards Experience.
- Data Engineering: Healthcare data standards experience with healthcare interoperability frameworks such as HL7, FHIR, ICD-CM, CPT, Healthcare claims and billing data models, Data Engineering (Apache Spark / PySpark, Delta Lake, Data modeling, ETL / ELT pipelines, Large-scale data processing).
- Cloud & Integration: Azure Data Platform ecosystem, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL API-based healthcare integrations, Event streaming platforms.
- Governance & Security: Healthcare data governance, Role-based access control, Data lineage and cataloging, Compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PHI security).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or enterprise data architecture.
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare data platforms.
- Experience implementing Microsoft Fabric or modern lakehouse architectures.
- Strong experience with Power BI enterprise analytics deployments.
