Microbiologist I - Nights

Description

Perrigo is seeking a Microbiologist to join our team. This role will focus on microbiological skills including Aerobic plate counts, Most probable number analysis, isolating and identifying bacterial cultures, ELISA, PCR, media preparation, good aseptic technique, routine laboratory functions, date entry and validation, maintaining bacterial control cultures, instrument calibration, maintenance, and repair, maintaining the laboratory and notebooks in an always audit prepared state, inventory management, 5S organization, and cleaning.

Scope of the Role

• Routine laboratory functions
• Maintaining bacterial control cultures
• Instrument calibration, maintenance, and repair
• Maintaining the laboratory and notebooks in an always audit prepared state
• Inventory management, 5S organization, and cleaning
• Process Validation and Protocol Support
• Process equipment inspections and sample collection
• Allergen testing

Experience Required

• Bachelor of Science in a Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Food Sciences or related field
• 1+ years’ experience working in FDA regulated GMP environment in either a food or pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory setting preferred

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a high functioning team
• Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibility for the results
• Ability to work overtime as needed
