MicroBiologist
About the role
Conducts routine sampling and microbiological analyses of environmental monitoring and a variety of clean utility systems using aseptic technique and in compliance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include maintaining laboratory documentation associated with testing and investigations, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data, and notifying clients of results. Assists in resolving issues and identifies and reports any discrepancies from normal procedures or practices.
Supports the implementation of new methods and equipment/instrumentation by performing required testing in support of validations, qualifications, or suitability testing. Updates and writes new procedures, protocols, and reports as requested.
This is a team-based position that requires rotating shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Responsibilities
- Maintain laboratory documentation for testing and investigations.
- Analyze, evaluate, and interpret microbiological data.
- Notify clients of results and assist in resolving issues.
- Identify and report discrepancies from normal procedures or practices.
- Maintain technical knowledge and troubleshoot problems with equipment and instrumentation.
- Support implementation of new methods and equipment through testing for validations, qualifications, or suitability.
- Update and write new procedures, protocols, and reports.
Requirements
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, environmental monitoring, and microbiological Quality Control testing and procedures preferred.
- Excellent manual dexterity and aseptic technique.
- Ability to complete sampling or testing assignments in a timely and compliant manner, with minimal supervision.
- Perform limited interpretation of data.
- Knowledge of cGMPs and compendia testing preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
