About the role

Seneca Federal Health, LLC (SFH) is seeking a Microbiologist/Lab and QMS Technician in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks related to quality management, quality assurance, and general laboratory practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks associated with maintaining the operations of the laboratory, while strictly adhering to QMS, CLIA and ISO regulations
  • Conduct QA/QC tasks and experiments including reagent and instrument qualification and test system validation
  • Ensure all procedures and documentation meet Quality Management Standards
  • Manage specimen and reagent inventory, ordering and receiving
  • Perform traditional and molecular laboratory testing, including outbreak response applications
  • Assist more senior laboratorians with non-CLIA testing activities
  • Prepare datasheets, documents, standard operation procedures, and worksheets as necessary
  • Participate in internal and external meetings
  • Assist in audit preparation, including internal and external safety and quality audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, such as Biology, Microbiology, or a closely related field
  • Practical knowledge of Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) or Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) procedures
  • Ability to understand and adhere to strict laboratory safety standards, quality management, and laboratory practices
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining flexibility to respond to program needs
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

Qualifications

  • United States citizenship or permanent resident status, or authorization for employment in the United States

Skills

  • Knowledge of and experience with Legionella culture methods (preferred)
  • Proficiency with CDC systems, including ELIMS, IFMS, etc.
  • Proficiency with common microbiology laboratory practices, including real-time PCR, nucleic acid extraction, isolation and culturing techniques, complex data analysis and interpretation
