Micro Inspection Product Controller

About the role

Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures, and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high-performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. Our products are used in wired and wireless communications, detection, measurement, imaging, military communication, guidance, electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land/sea/aircraft, automotive, medical, and industrial test equipment. This role ensures the quality, integrity, and conformance of HFM products and materials through precision microscopy-based inspection of integrated circuit assemblies, semiconductor wafers, and IC dies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect integrated circuit assemblies, semiconductor wafers, and IC dies for conformance to company standards using microscope, adhering to IPC-610 and MIL-STD-883 inspection standards.
• Read work orders to determine inspection criteria and detect defects such as broken circuit lines, bridged circuits, misalignments, symbol errors, and missing solder.
• Perform microscopic inspection using high-magnification imaging, including photographic evidence and elemental material analysis.
• Interface with micro-assembly personnel to remedy defects and advise rework.
• Disposition nonconforming in-process products and coordinate activities with Engineering and MPE teams.
• Pack final stock materials after the final inspection process.
• Follow and mandate AS9100/ISO9001/ISO14001 protocols and processes.
• Perform laser cutting of manufacturing materials with preventive maintenance and controlled tracking of material expiration dates.
• Calibrate, verify, and document ESD benches and soldering stations.
• Measure, monitor, and record cleanroom particle levels.
• Capture inspection photos using a high-magnification microscope and perform elemental analysis of materials.
• Perform AS/400 transactions and support stockroom operations for final stock.

Requirements

• Preferred associate's degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within electronic component, semiconductor, or wireless manufacturing industries.
• Knowledge of processes and procedures for handling sensitive electronic components.
• Experience working in a low particle count environment (e.g., cleanroom, laminar flow hood).
• Knowledge of inspection criteria for microelectronic assemblies and components, including MIL-STD-883 (e.g., die attach, wire/ribbon bonding, MMIC chip-outs).
• Knowledge of inspection criteria for miniature solder assemblies (IPC/J-STD).
• Ability to inspect against detailed assembly drawings.
• Comfortable operating under a microscope for extended periods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn and adopt new initiatives to improve group efficiency.
