Job Description
The Manager Scientific Information works in the Medical Affairs department within HollisterStier Allergy. The role requires regular interaction with external customers (healthcare providers and staff), as well as with internal employees primarily in Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing. Additional support is offered as needed to other departments including Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Human Resources. This position serves as a visible leader and must drive efforts to promote HollisterStier’s products and elevate the company’s scientific message and services.
The Manager Scientific Information will have many opportunities to serve as an industry expert and will be a highly sought after scientific resource by allergy healthcare providers.
- Technical Customer Support/Communication – 70%
- Become a subject matter expert in allergenic extract manufacturing and allergy immunotherapy
- Stay current with scientific information from leading journals, organizations, and affiliated websites
- Respond to customer technical inquiries
- Respond to product complaints, adverse event reports and requests for off-label information and delegate to appropriate team in Customer Service/Regulatory Affairs
- Develop and maintain database of all medical affairs interactions
- Provide direct allergy practice assessments; allergy skin testing and immunotherapy protocol consultation, skin test panel reviews, and product conversion guidance
- Technical Sales & Marketing Support – 30%
- Collaborate with Marketing to create and/or review scientific information for both printed and online dissemination (website, social media, sales collateral, technical memos, etc)
- Cultivate business relationships by conducting meetings with key accounts/target conversion accounts to present Scientific Advantages of HollisterStier (travel as necessary)
Qualifications
- Masters degree or higher (e.g. PhD, PharmD, NP, PA, MD) - preferably in biology, biochemistry, immunology or similar scientific or clinical area required
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical, biotechnology or environmental science field working in a laboratory or customer-facing role, OR
- 3+ years working in healthcare role with deep knowledge of allergy diagnosis and/or allergy immunotherapy required.
- Hands-on experience with immunoassays like ELISA and Western Blot, or with protein biochemistry methods like SDS-PAGE, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC, etc;
- Experience with direct customer interactions either answering technical questions or medical/clinical inquiries is highly desirable
- Microsoft Office required
- A unique blend of both scientific and business acumen required
- Strong scientific background with laboratory experience (preferably biochemistry, microbiology, or immunology) required
- Self-starter with the ability to take on new projects and develop new approaches to old problems required
- Dynamic and collaborative presentation style; comfortable delivering technical information to a broad range of audiences required
- Works cross-functionally and seeks opportunities for self-guided development required
Other Physical Requirements
Preferred location for this role is Spokane, WA; remote (US-based) work location allowed for right candidate; Role requires travel up to 10%

Hiring Wage
$100,875.00 – $161,400.00, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
