Mgr, Sales - Treatment Plant
Sales Manager
Core & Main is seeking a Sales Manager to lead and develop a sales team focused on water and wastewater treatment plants. The ideal candidate will manage pricing, strategic planning, and customer relationships.
- Directly participate in sales calls with direct reports to strengthen customer relationships and uncover growth opportunities.
- Manage a sales team and territory, including account assignments, project management, estimating, and quote development teams.
- Develop and train direct/indirect reports, actively scheduling sales meetings and events with internal and external stakeholders.
- Forecast and achieve budgeted sales targets for assigned sales teams, communicating and negotiating special pricing and product availability with top vendors.
- Communicate and negotiate special pricing and product availability with top vendors in the region.
- Train and motivate sales associates in effective selling processes, strategies, and techniques.
- Conduct ongoing recruitment and interviewing of candidates to acquire talent supporting business objectives.
- Responsible for succession planning.

Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Work Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Frequent overnight travel. Requires frequent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about. Occasional stooping or lifting of light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age or older
- Pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable
Education and Experience:
- Typically requires a BS/BA in related discipline
- Generally, 7+ years of experience in related field
- May require certification
- Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years in waterworks industry
- 5+ years experience outside sales experience
- 2+ years experience in direct management of area/regional sales managers preferred
- 2+ years experience with direct management responsibilities overseeing multiple states and 3+ outside sales reps team within the treatment plant segment of waterworks
- 2+ years experience in direct management of project managers
- 2+ years experience in direct management of estimating managers
- Strong background in sales management within wholesale distribution
- Sound industry and product knowledge
