DIRECT ENGINEERING FOR MAJOR SUBSTATION CAPITAL PROJECTS
- Oversee conceptual design, relay and protection strategies, consultant reviews, engineering, and constructability reviews for high-value substation projects.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with codes and standards.
- Provide technical guidance on protection and control engineering design, material selection, and system integration.
LEAD, DEVELOP & MENTOR PROTECTION & CONTROL ENGINEERING TEAM
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for engineers and technical staff.
- Build team capabilities through training, technical development, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high-quality engineering execution.
DRIVE CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION THROUGHOUT PROJECT
- Cook up close with project management, planning, operations and construction teams to ensure project engineering readiness.
- Support procurement activities, including technical evaluations.
- Represent engineering in project meetings and stakeholder reviews.
PROVIDE ENGINEERING SUPPORT DURING CONSTRUCTION
- Partner with field personnel and external consultants to resolve design issues during construction, respond to RFIs, and ensure engineering intent is maintained.
- Participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities as needed.
- Ensure construction support activities uphold safety, quality, and compliance expectations.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college + 8 years experience required.
- PE license required.
Compensation Information:
- $130,080 - $162,580 (min. - mid.)
