About the Role
This position oversees the development and management of annual and ongoing financial planning processes and/or the development and management of interim variance analysis reporting. Responsibilities may include leading budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close variance analysis, as well as developing financial analyses for senior management decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the annual budget and ongoing forecast processes, including building, maintaining, and evolving forecasting models and reporting.
- Lead and drive monthly close variance analysis reporting, including consolidated reporting and department-level views.
- Facilitate and supervise the preparation of periodic cost reports.
- Develop various analyses for senior management to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with Accounting on monthly close, reviewing account balances for appropriateness, potential accruals, or miscoding issues.
- Support departments in maintaining budgets while achieving designated goals.
- Utilize tools such as Excel, nVision, and PeopleSoft Query for financial analysis.
- Analyze data and develop analytical tools to improve financial reporting.
- Produce reporting that is timely, complete, thoughtful, understandable, and accurate.
- Drive process improvements within financial operations.
- Mentor, manage, and develop staff, including aligning and tracking individual goals, performance assessments, and compensation recommendations.
- Ensure all processes and documentation support departmental policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s (BA/BS) Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of progressive finance or accounting experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience leading or supervising a team.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in financial analytics and modeling.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup statements, "if" statements, and building/validating/troubleshooting Excel models.
- U.S. Citizenship (required if supporting the TRICARE contract).
- Ability to receive a favorable interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation (required if supporting the TRICARE contract).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
- Demonstrated proficiency with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with G.A.A.P.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft ERP or similar software.
- Strong statistical background to perform complex calculations.
- Experience with queries, dashboards, and other financial data reporting tools.
- Business partnership and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.

Pay
This position typically ranges from $119,000 to $132,000 per year.
