About the role

Founded in 1963, Townley Engineering & Manufacturing is a rapidly growing, American-made solutions expert for wear and abrasion problems found in the mining, dredging, and power industries. We are looking for motivated individuals, not afraid to get dirty, for our state-of-the-art white iron foundries.

Responsibilities

• Create sand molds and pour molten metals into sand molds
• Break up sand molds and slag
• Apply mold coating, ramming/packing sand molds, closing, furnace operations, and shakeout
• Skim slag from surface of molten metal
• Remove gates, sprues and other projections from castings
• Measure out correct amounts of materials for furnace and loads charge
• Monitor the pouring of molten metal into molds and other forms to create castings with the help of ladles and hand-operated equipment
• Carefully track the temperature gauges and color, heating units, furnace flames, etc. to melt metal as per requirements
• Clean castings and patterns
• Follow oral and written instructions and/or direction given by supervisors to complete assigned work projects
• Ensure work area is clean and safe

• Work scheduled hours and comply with the company's timekeeping policy and all other company policies

• Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products
• Must be able to stand, sit and bend for long periods of time
